Boylan McGlynn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Donavin McJohnny, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. After 31 played minutes, Lenankeel Utd's Breandan McPhil shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Boylan McGlynn came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Donavin McJohnny managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lenankeel Utd's supporters rose to their feet, but Donavin McJohnny was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Boylan McGlynn breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Donavin McJohnny fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Boylan McGlynn having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Blaire O'Down showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Enda McCollion, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. When Basil Deans came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Spancelhill fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Basil Deans couldn't finish the play. George Delaney kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Boylan McGlynn didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 74th minute, which inside left pole to 2-1. Blaire O'Down made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Basil Deans in the 95th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Lenankeel Utd's Saoirse Ryan got a free kick in the 96th minute. Lenankeel Utd's Blaire O'Down played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enda McCollion in the 98th minute of play. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
