Spectators: 6771 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1771, VIP seats: 0) Enda McCollion started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. When Clooncogaile's Donavon McJames in the 6th minute got a chance for a shot 6th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Spancelhill's goalie prevented a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Basil Deans got free with Gearard McJohnny in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bec Taylor took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 12th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Boylan McGlynn. Spancelhill's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 18thth minute of the game Enda McCollion who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Clooncogaile's Gearard McJohnny was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match had gone on for 20 minutes, Rannal Costello took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Gearard McJohnny to make any attempt to save it. 24 minutes into the match, Arthur McAlphie notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Spancelhill's Boylan McGlynn. Boylan McGlynn was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Basil Deans during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Spancelhill getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Basil Deans hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Donavon McJames's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Boylan McGlynn was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. Arthur McAlphie recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Boylan McGlynn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arthur McAlphie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Boylan McGlynn didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Donavon McJames went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Donavon McJames to make the kick off. Donavon McJames received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Boylan McGlynn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 60th minute, Enda McCollion left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Spancelhill fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. Arthur McAlphie recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Donavon McJames did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-4 to the left of a surprised Boylan McGlynn 64 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arthur McAlphie got free with Boylan McGlynn in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 72 minutes into the match, Spancelhill's goal looked a bit too open when Donavon McJames came free, but Boylan McGlynn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Arthur McAlphie came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Clooncogaile fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arthur McAlphie couldn't finish the play. In the 74th minute, Donavon McJames fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Boylan McGlynn, passed just outside the right post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ros McLaughlin got free with Boylan McGlynn in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Donavon McJames's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Boylan McGlynn read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. Arthur McAlphie was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 85th minute. Clooncogaile's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After 88 minutes, Donavon Tracy mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Spancelhill and the Clooncogaile players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Spancelhill getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Donavon Tracy hit a great ball. Enda McCollion sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Arthur McAlphie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match was over Clooncogaile could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Spancelhill throughout the match.
