The supporters of Cloughjordan booed when Finnahy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Burke Caffey didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Finnahy's Burke Caffey in the 20th minute got a chance for a shot 20th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Daron McMichel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bradley Rutherford, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Cloughjordan's zone, Burke Caffey stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pearson Dillon came out of the goal and Burke Caffey tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lorcan McSteven in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pearson Dillon saved Cloughjordan from getting behind. Daron McMichel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bradley Rutherford in the 30th minute of play. If Bradley Rutherford had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pearson Dillon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lorcan McSteven in the 37th minute of play. 39 minutes into the match, Cloughjordan's goal looked a bit too open when Lorcan McSteven came free, but Pearson Dillon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 40th minute Burke Caffey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pearson Dillon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pearson Dillon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Burke Caffey in the 42nd minute of the match. If Burke Caffey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Cloughjordan getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Damian McGlenn hit a great ball. Burke Caffey blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pearson Dillon having to make a save. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The supporters of Finnahy booed when Cloughjordan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brian MaCollin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Daron McMichel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bradley Rutherford's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. Bradley Rutherford fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daron McMichel having to interfere. Cloughjordan's Pearson Dillon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Cloughjordan from getting a goal against them. 80 minutes into the match, Bradley Rutherford notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Finnahy's Daron McMichel. Daron McMichel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Blavock Savic, 86 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Lorcan McSteven managed to get in a good position for a shot. Finnahy's supporters rose to their feet, but Lorcan McSteven was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pearson Dillon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cloughjordan were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Finnahy for a fine match.
