Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Caoilte Molloy made the kick off which started today's match. Fionn Dimson charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fionn Dimson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Bebhinn Moran came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by Coolearagh's Cashel Brennan. But to his dismay, Cashel Brennan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The nice shot from Caoilte Molloy in the 20thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Arthur Myler had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. Kilmacow's Bebhinn Moran played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bedilia McBrandon in the 22nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cashel Brennan in the 37th minute of play forced Kilmacow's goalkeeper Bebhinn Moran to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 39th minute, Kilmacow's Quaid McLian seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Quaid McLian the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Kilmacow protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Quaid McLian had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 39th minute of the game. One of Kilmacow:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Coolearagh:s goal. Tadhg Dimson shot the penalty kick right outside the post. After the first half Coolearagh were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bedilia McBrandon to make the kick off. A collision led to Kilmacow getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Auley McAlphie hit a great ball. If Fionn Dimson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Brennen Bayes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arthur Myler having to interfere. Brennen Bayes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Arthur Myler having to make a save. Kilmacow's Fionn Dimson got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Brennen Bayes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Kilmacow getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Breslin McPaul hit a great ball. Bebhinn Moran showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cashel Brennan in the 89th minute of the match. Brennen Bayes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Auley McAlphie hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. In the 94th minute, Robin McCollion hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Coolearagh walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
