When the match clock showed 6 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Breanainn Walker sped through Botinny's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Alex McGlenn. An unexpectedly hard shot by Caolán Martyn in the 10th minute of play forced Botinny's goalkeeper Alex McGlenn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 13 minutes in the game, Caolán Martyn fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Alex McGlenn having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Drumbeg AFC's zone, Rowe Glen Crowe stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brannon Keegan came out of the goal and Rowe Glen Crowe tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Caolán Martyn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alex McGlenn having to interfere. Breanainn Walker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Bradley Hughes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 24th minute, Bin Benson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Drumbeg AFC's Brannon Keegan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bradley Hughes in the 27th minute of play. Cormac McWillie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alex McGlenn having to interfere. Alex McGlenn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caolán Martyn in the 31st minute of play. After having played for 33 minutes, Breanainn Walker managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Drumbeg AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Breanainn Walker was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Breanainn Walker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Caolán Martyn came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Drumbeg AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Caolán Martyn couldn't finish the play. Aaron Doherty scored 1-1 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Brannon Keegan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bradley Hughes to strike the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, Caolán Martyn had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alex McGlenn. Botinny's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Caolán Martyn was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. If Caolán Martyn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 60 minutes into the match, Caolán Martyn had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alex McGlenn. Botinny's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Caolán Martyn was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. After 65 minutes, Cormac McWillie mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Drumbeg AFC and the Botinny players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 65th minute, Cormac McWillie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 66 minutes of play Drumbeg AFC's Cormac McWillie was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. When Bradley Hughes came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Botinny fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bradley Hughes couldn't finish the play. Conn Deans hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. In the 76th minute, Farrell McLiam fired a really elegant long shot, but Brannon Keegan threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. Bradley Hughes was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 77th minute. Botinny's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Rowe Glen Crowe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brannon Keegan having to interfere. Gavin McLiam took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 87th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Alex McGlenn. Botinny's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Drumbeg AFC had won after a very even match.
