The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 17th minute Donlevy McOliver shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brannon Keegan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kilmalkedar's Phelan Glen Crowe got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Caroll Doherty managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kilmalkedar's supporters rose to their feet, but Caroll Doherty was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Brannon Keegan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 34 minutes of play, Kilmalkedar's Phelan Glen Crowe made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Brannon Keegan was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Drumbeg AFC's Conleth Holt got a free kick in the 38th minute. Caroll Doherty received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Brannon Keegan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cormac McWillie's late challenge caught a Kilmalkedar's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cormac McWillie helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Drumbeg AFC's Cormac McWillie got a free kick in the 41st minute. 46 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Kilmalkedar's Phelan Glen Crowe fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

A very good chance. 56 minutes into the match, Drumbeg AFC's goalkeeper Brannon Keegan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Phelan Glen Crowe. In the 57th minute, Donlevy McOliver hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 61 minutes, Bin Benson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Drumbeg AFC and the Kilmalkedar players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Drumbeg AFC's Bin Benson got a free kick in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Caolán Martyn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ailín Callaghan having to interfere. Caroll Doherty was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 88th minute. Kilmalkedar's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Ailín Callaghan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Breffni Willson in the 90th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Drumbeg AFC's Conleth Holt got a free kick in the 92nd minute.
