Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Catstown's Barney Doyle started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Briain Morrison came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Catstown fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Briain Morrison couldn't finish the play. After 9 minutes, Briain Morrison made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Celbridge FC's Caimin McMichel tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 14 minutes into the match, Catstown's goalkeeper Bardan McMichel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Boyle McBrandon. Caimin McMichel came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by Catstown's Henry McBrand. But to his dismay, Henry McBrand quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Henry McBrand fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Caimin McMichel having to interfere. Caimin McMichel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Briain Morrison, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Caimin McMichel came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Catstown's Barney Doyle. But to his dismay, Barney Doyle quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Henry McBrand struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Caimin McMichel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Catstown. Catstown's Henry McBrand got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 42nd minute, Henry McBrand left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Catstown fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. Dane Matthews was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 46 minutes into the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pawd Frankson was the one to do the kick off. When Fionntán McPhilip fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Catstown's protests and gave Fionntán McPhilip a yellow card for diving instead. After 51 played minutes Catstown got a freekick which was hit by Fionntán McPhilip. Henry McBrand sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 57 minutes, Ravan Branson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Celbridge FC and the Catstown players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 57th match minute, Celbridge FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ravan Branson to maneuver through the defense. 59 minutes into the match, Henry McBrand dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Caimin McMichel, 0-6. In the 62nd minute, Henry McBrand made a precise shot to the right of Caimin McMichel. Celbridge FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-7. After 65 minutes, Barney Doyle mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Catstown and the Celbridge FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Barney Doyle hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Celbridge FC's Caimin McMichel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Celbridge FC from getting a goal against them. After having played for 72 minutes, Briain Morrison managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Catstown's supporters crossed their fingers, but Briain Morrison was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Celbridge FC's Caimin McMichel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henry McBrand in the 77th minute of play. Briain Morrison sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 79 minutes into the match, Catstown's goal looked a bit too open when Boyle McBrandon came free, but Bardan McMichel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Catstown booed when Celbridge FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Braon Quinnless didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 91 played minutes Celbridge FC got a freekick which was hit by Rownun Hunt. Henry McBrand fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Caimin McMichel having to interfere. Henry McBrand succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-8 in the 97th playminute.
