If Torrey McSteven had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Brian Palmer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Torrey McSteven, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Torrey McSteven in the 9th minute of play forced Rinmore AFC's goalkeeper Brian Palmer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Torrey McSteven sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 14 minutes into the game, Ron McIan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tullykinroe's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rinmore AFC the free kick. The supporters of Rinmore AFC booed when Tullykinroe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ron McIan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alfred McMichel could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Fionntán McBjarton made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Torrey McSteven in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Brian Palmer saved Rinmore AFC from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Torrey McSteven's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Brian Palmer was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. Brian Palmer came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Tullykinroe's Aengus Keegan. But to his dismay, Aengus Keegan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 0-2 became the score in the 29th minute when Aengus Keegan elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 35thth minute of the game Torrey McSteven who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rinmore AFC's Brian Palmer was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hugh Deans to strike the kick off in the second half. Fionntán McBjarton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hugh Deans in the 52nd minute of play. Hugh Deans received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Fionntán McBjarton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 60th minute, one of Tullykinroe:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Tullykinroe. In the 62nd minute there was a penalty for Rinmore AFC. Brannan McWill stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Fionntán McBjarton. 1-2. Brian Palmer made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aengus Keegan in the 68th minute. Torrey McSteven was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 71st minute. Tullykinroe's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Fionntán McBjarton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfred McMichel in the 78th minute of play. After 80 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Rinmore AFC! The referee gave Tullykinroe a penalty, 82 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Berrin McJohnny, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Rinmore AFC's Brian Palmer. 1-3. One of Rinmore AFC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Tullykinroe:s goal. In the 88th minute there was a penalty for Tullykinroe. A hard shot 94 in the game by Torrey McSteven from a close distance when the talented Brian Palmer managed to make a qualified save. Rinmore AFC's players were relieved. Aengus Keegan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
