Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Edwin McAlphie got the match started through his kick off. Fionntán McBjarton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edwin McAlphie in the 4th minute of the match. 8 minutes into the match, Aengus Keegan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Daron McPhil. Tallaght's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Aengus Keegan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. After some careless play in the Tullykinroe defense, Blanaid McBrand kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fionntán McBjarton. The Tullykinroe fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fionntán McBjarton should have stopped the shot. Aengus Keegan came free with the goalkeeper in the 21st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Daron McPhil could save by the left post. Blanaid McBrand struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Fionntán McBjarton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tallaght. After a rather tough play, Tullykinroe's Breasal Savic got a free kick in the 26th minute. Aengus Keegan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daron McPhil having to interfere. Tullykinroe's Torrey McSteven got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Tallaght's Daron McPhil got control of the ball when Aengus Keegan tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 37th minute, Tullykinroe's Ron McIan dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. After 47 played minutes Tullykinroe got a freekick which was hit by Aengus Keegan. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Torrey McSteven stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Tallaght's Blanaid McOliver got a free kick in the 56th minute. In the 57th minute of the match Berrin McJohnny sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Daron McPhil skillfully saved the ball. Edwin McAlphie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fionntán McBjarton having to interfere. If Blanaid McBrand had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 65 minutes, Blanaid McBrand managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tallaght's supporters crossed their fingers, but Blanaid McBrand was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 69th match minute, Tallaght was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Piers Willson to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Tallaght's zone, Aengus Keegan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Daron McPhil came out of the goal and Aengus Keegan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Blanaid McBrands short, quick shot in the 72ndth minute got Fionntán McBjarton to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a defensive mix-up in Tullykinroe's zone, Edwin McAlphie stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fionntán McBjarton came out of the goal and Edwin McAlphie tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fionntán McBjarton made an important save on a dangerous shot by Blanaid McBrand in the 78th minute. After 79 minutes, Breasal Savic mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tullykinroe and the Tallaght players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 79th minute, Breasal Savic hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edwin McAlphie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fionntán McBjarton having to interfere. The supporters of Tallaght booed when Tullykinroe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ron McIan didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Tullykinroe's Breasal Savic got a free kick in the 87th minute. Aengus Keegan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Aengus Keegan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daron McPhil having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Aengus Keegan in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Daron McPhil saved Tallaght from getting behind.
