The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 2 minutes into the game, Reilley Ryan recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Derin McWilliam. Reilley Ryan showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Derin McWilliam made a fantastic save in the 5th minute, when Rian McPhil sent off a good shot on target. Derin McWilliam showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reilley Ryan, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. In the 10th minute the ball was on its way in behind Capnagower AFC's goalkeeper Derin McWilliam, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Finian Ryan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baiste Prunty having to interfere. Dermot McLiam's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Baiste Prunty read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. Baiste Prunty took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dermot McLiam, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Derrick Coyle charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Derrick Coyle the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Baiste Prunty showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Finian Ryan in the 26th minute of the match. Brasil Myler kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Finian Ryan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Baiste Prunty was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. Brasil Myler's late challenge caught a Capnagower AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Brasil Myler helped the player get up and apologised. In the 42ndth minute of the game Finian Ryan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ballymullen FC's Baiste Prunty was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Dermot McLiam sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After a defensive mix-up in Ballymullen FC's zone, Dermot McLiam stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Baiste Prunty came out of the goal and Dermot McLiam tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dermot McLiam received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Baiste Prunty tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Reilley Ryan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Derin McWilliam having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Ballymullen FC's Rian McPhil got a free kick in the 84th minute. Dermot McLiam sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 90 minutes, Reilley Ryan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ballymullen FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Reilley Ryan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ballymullen FC's Baiste Prunty played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Finian Ryan in the 95th minute of play.
