Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Brigid Perth got the match started through his kick off. Kilmeedy AFC's Roordan Branson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Kilmeedy AFC from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Tallaght's zone, Brigid Perth stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Daron McPhil came out of the goal and Brigid Perth tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Kilmeedy AFC's Blathmacc Scully in the 5th minute got a chance for a shot 5th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Tallaght's goalie prevented a goal. If Blathmacc Scully had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Brigid Perth in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Daron McPhil prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Piers Willson kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Edwin McAlphie kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. In the 15th match minute, Tallaght was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Braoin Deans to maneuver through the defense. Daron McPhil showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daron Colwell in the 21st minute of the match. After 22 minutes of play, Kilmeedy AFC's Blathmacc Scully made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Daron McPhil was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Kilmeedy AFC's Braonain Tierney got a free kick in the 24th minute. If Piers Willson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 29th match minute, Kilmeedy AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Braonain Tierney to maneuver through the defense. Roordan Branson made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Donncha Myler sent off a good shot on target. Daron McPhil didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Flannery Sheridan went, in the 37th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. 42 minutes into the game, Daron Colwell cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Daron McPhil was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Donncha Myler sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edwin McAlphie made a kick off. In the 54th minute, Kilmeedy AFC's Braonain Tierney seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Braonain Tierney the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Kilmeedy AFC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Braonain Tierney had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The supporters of Tallaght booed when Kilmeedy AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Braonain Tierney didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 55 played minutes, Tallaght's Nollaig Doherty shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Roordan Branson came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Tallaght reached it. Brigid Perth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 61stth minute of the game Brigid Perth who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tallaght's Daron McPhil was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 64th minute, Blanaid McBrand got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 69 minutes, Piers Willson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tallaght and the Kilmeedy AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 69th minute, Piers Willson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Brigid Perth came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Kilmeedy AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Brigid Perth couldn't finish the play. Daron McPhil took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brigid Perth, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Kilmeedy AFC booed when Tallaght was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cianán Ryan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kilmeedy AFC's Carrigan Harkin couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 81st minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Tallaght. Roordan Branson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Piers Willson in the 82nd minute of play. Kilmeedy AFC's Roordan Branson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Piers Willson in the 86th minute of play. In the 89th minute Edwin McAlphie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roordan Branson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the final whistle sounded Kilmeedy AFC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Tallaght.
