Spectators: 6765 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1765, VIP seats: 0) When Alfred McMichel came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Rinmore AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alfred McMichel couldn't finish the play. Alfred McMichel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Rinmore AFC's Hugh Deans in the 7th minute got a chance for a shot 7th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Drommartin AFC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 10thth minute of the game Bat McWilliam who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rinmore AFC's Brian Palmer was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 16 played minutes, Rinmore AFC's Bailey Keegan shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Harry McNamara came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Rinmore AFC reached it. In the 21st minute, Briain Grant ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Brian Palmer was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After 24 played minutes, Drommartin AFC's Brendanus Sheridan shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Brian Palmer came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Drommartin AFC reached it. In the 27th minute Bat McWilliam shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brian Palmer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bil MaCollin's late challenge caught a Rinmore AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bil MaCollin helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Rinmore AFC booed when Drommartin AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bil MaCollin didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Drommartin AFC's zone, Hugh Deans stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Harry McNamara came out of the goal and Hugh Deans tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 36 minutes into the match, Rinmore AFC's Hugh Deans sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Harry McNamara narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Briain Grant managed to get in a good position for a shot. Drommartin AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Briain Grant was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Brian Palmer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 39 minutes, Gilbert Ramsey mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rinmore AFC and the Drommartin AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Gilbert Ramsey hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Bat McWilliam sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 46th minute of the match Bil MaCollin sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Brian Palmer skillfully saved the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Hugh Deans managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rinmore AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Hugh Deans was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Harry McNamara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Brannan McWill hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Bat McWilliam received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Brian Palmer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 73rd minute, Hugh Deans ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Harry McNamara was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After a rather tough play, Rinmore AFC's Reagan Ryan got a free kick in the 76th minute. In the 77th minute of the match, Briain Grant got a very nice opportunity to score, but Brian Palmer was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. If Briain Grant had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 85th match minute, Drommartin AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Basil Matthews to maneuver through the defense. Alfred McMichel struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Harry McNamara didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rinmore AFC. If Hugh Deans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
