Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Finian Ryan started the match with the kick off. Blanaid McBrand received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Derin McWilliam came out and tried to block the shot, but Blanaid McBrand slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 3rd minute. After a rather tough play, Tallaght's Piers Willson got a free kick in the 12th minute. Capnagower AFC's Bradon McLiam couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 13th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Tallaght. Capnagower AFC were awarded a corner in the 25th minute after Tallaght's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Bradon McLiam took the corner. Bradon McLiam made a great header on Capnagower AFC's corner, it was just that Tallaght's Daron McPhil managed to reach the ball for a save. Dermot McLiam's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Daron McPhil read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. A collision led to Capnagower AFC getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Seosamh Lester hit a great ball. When Finian Ryan came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Capnagower AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Finian Ryan couldn't finish the play. Finian Ryan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Daron McPhil took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dermot McLiam, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Through an outstanding action, after 38 minutes, Derin McWilliam successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 42nd minute, Edwin McAlphie reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Derin McWilliam. The goal made the score 2-1. Finian Ryan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daron McPhil having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

After a rather tough play, Capnagower AFC's Beagan Coyle got a free kick in the 61st minute. In the 64thth minute of the game Edwin McAlphie who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Capnagower AFC's Derin McWilliam was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Finian Ryan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dermot McLiam got free with Daron McPhil in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Blanaid McBrand came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Tallaght fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Blanaid McBrand couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edwin McAlphie in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Derin McWilliam prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Finian Ryan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Daron McPhil tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
