The tension between the Drommartin AFC and the Capnagower AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Drommartin AFC's Harry McNamara proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Drommartin AFC from getting a goal against them. 32 minutes into the match, Drommartin AFC's goalkeeper Harry McNamara had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dermot McLiam. A collision led to Capnagower AFC getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Thomas Sheridan hit a great ball. Bat McWilliam fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Derin McWilliam having to interfere. Dermot McLiam received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Harry McNamara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Finian Ryan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The wind increased when Finian Ryan made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Drommartin AFC's Bresal Lavine got a free kick in the 52nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dermot McLiam in the 62nd minute of play forced Drommartin AFC's goalkeeper Harry McNamara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. During the 69th minute of the match Basil Matthews completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Basil Matthews a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 70th minute, Basil Matthews hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bresal Lavine kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dermot McLiam in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Harry McNamara saved Drommartin AFC from getting behind. The Capnagower AFC fans' excitement grew in the 79th match minute when Capnagower AFC's Finian Ryan looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Finian Ryan in the 83rd minute of play forced Drommartin AFC's goalkeeper Harry McNamara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Finian Ryan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 94th minute, Finian Ryan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
