Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Bressal McLaughlin started the match with the kick off. Bressal McLaughlin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bressal McLaughlin struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Beag McDecland didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ardattin. When Egan Todd fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ardattin's protests and gave Egan Todd a yellow card for diving instead. In the 14th match minute, Ardattin was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Egan Todd to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Ardsbeg booed when Ardattin was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Geralt Dunne didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bressal McLian took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 18th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Barry Dalton. Ardattin's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Egan Todd came free with the goalkeeper in the 20th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Beag McDecland could save by the left post. Barry Dalton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Phillip Brennan , even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 23rd match minute, Ardsbeg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bressal McLian to maneuver through the defense. Brain Bayes charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Brain Bayes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Ardsbeg getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Brain Bayes hit a great ball. 31 minutes into the match, Ardattin's Beiti McGlenn broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Ardattin's Barry Dalton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rorey Glen Crowe in the 36th minute of play. In the 38th minute, Bressal McLaughlin fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Rorey Glen Crowe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Barry Dalton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Beag McDecland showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bressal McLaughlin in the 44th minute of the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
After a defensive mix-up in Ardsbeg's zone, Egan Todd stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Beag McDecland came out of the goal and Egan Todd tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ardsbeg's Beag McDecland played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bressal McLaughlin in the 54th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Egan Todd in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Beag McDecland saved Ardsbeg from getting behind. Beag McDecland showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bressal McLaughlin, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Beag McDecland came out of the goal in the 69th minute to try and stop a shot by Ardattin's Egan Todd. But to his dismay, Egan Todd quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Rorey Glen Crowe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Barry Dalton having to interfere. After 78 played minutes Ardattin got a freekick which was hit by Biddy McAlphie. Rorey Glen Crowe could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Barry Dalton made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Ardsbeg's Bressal McLian got a free kick in the 80th minute. Beag McDecland took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Beiti McGlenn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Egan Todd sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carrig Colwell hit a great ball. If Egan Todd had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ardattin's Egan Todd got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Egan Todd took the ball and in the 96 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Beag McDecland. Beag McDecland dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Ardattin had won after a very even match.
