Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Logan Kirby made the kick off which started today's match. 3 minutes into the game, Logan Kirby cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Bean Horgan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 7 minutes into the match, Derrick Delaney notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Ballinteskin's Farrell Hunt. Farrell Hunt was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Breccan Sheridan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bean Horgan having to make a save. Bean Horgan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Logan Kirby, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. The supporters of Hilltown booed when Ballinteskin was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Finbar McJohn didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Peyton McAlphie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Farrell Hunt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Peyton McAlphie in the 32nd minute of the match. Royan Dimson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Farrell Hunt made a huge save. After 39 played minutes Ballinteskin got a freekick which was hit by Finbar McJohn. Farrell Hunt made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Derrick Delaney sent off a good shot on target. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Peyton McAlphie stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Hilltown getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Tierney Myler hit a great ball. Breccan Sheridan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bean Horgan having to interfere. After having played for 56 minutes, Logan Kirby managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ballinteskin's supporters crossed their fingers, but Logan Kirby was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tierney Myler sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bhrighde Sheridan kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Ballinteskin's Breccan Sheridan got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Hilltown getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Tierney Myler hit a great ball. The supporters of Hilltown booed when Ballinteskin was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Finbar McJohn didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 74th minute, Bannon McCready sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Ballinteskin's Farrell Hunt didn't even have to move. When Breccan Sheridan came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Ballinteskin fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Breccan Sheridan couldn't finish the play. Farrell Hunt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Peyton McAlphie in the 78th minute of play. Tierney Myler's late challenge caught a Ballinteskin's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tierney Myler helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Hilltown's Tierney Myler got a free kick in the 83rd minute. If Derrick Delaney had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Breccan Sheridan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With his leg Bean Horgan managed to avoid a goal in the 89thth minute, when Ballinteskin's Logan Kirby fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Despite being the better team, Ballinteskin failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
