Beacan McLiam was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 10 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 10th minute of the game. One of Belleek FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Carrig Utd:s goal. Lochlainn Lester placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Britt Kirby struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Flann Ghee didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Carrig Utd. In the 16th minute Britt Kirby shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flann Ghee saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Flann Ghee made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Brefni Silke sent off a good shot on target. Flann Ghee made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Britt Kirby in the 22nd minute of play. With a little luck, Belleek FC's Flann Ghee got control of the ball when Brefni Silke tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Boyle Johnson fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Belleek FC's protests and gave Boyle Johnson a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Carrig Utd booed when Belleek FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Boyle Johnson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Britt Kirby blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Flann Ghee having to make a save. Brogan Crowe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Berk McCready having to interfere. Berk McCready came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by Belleek FC's Brogan Crowe. But to his dismay, Brogan Crowe quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Britt Kirby received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Britt Kirby made a kick off. The throw-in from Rowland Barrett in the 52nd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Belleek FC's Branigan Kirby. Flann Ghee didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Brefni Silke went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Belleek FC's Cormac Cassin got a free kick in the 59th minute. In the 61st minute, Cormac Cassin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 63 played minutes Belleek FC got a freekick which was hit by Boyle Johnson. Britt Kirby took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Flann Ghee. Flann Ghee dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. 69 minutes into the match, Brogan Crowe dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Berk McCready, 2-2. Berk McCready was out of position in the 72 minute of play, and Brogan Crowe capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Brogan Crowe really showed his touch with that goal: 2-3. Flann Ghee showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Britt Kirby, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. If Austin Martyn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Britt Kirby in the 81st minute of play forced Belleek FC's goalkeeper Flann Ghee to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Belleek FC getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Basil McGlynn hit a great ball. Lochlainn Lester, 84 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. A sloppy throw-in by Brandon John in the 87th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Belleek FC's Cormac Cassin. Brogan Crowe might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Berk McCready. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Brogan Crowe ran back to his position shaking his head. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Belleek FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
