In the 21st match minute, Carnmalin Utd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by George McIan to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Carnmalin Utd's zone, Beale MaCollin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kevis Caffey came out of the goal and Beale MaCollin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Scot Caffrey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Donlan Gallagher showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Scot Caffrey in the 30th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Herich McTommy got free with Donlan Gallagher in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Castlecarra Utd's Darragh Rutherford got a free kick in the 33rd minute. If Scot Caffrey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Brenan McAlphie fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Carnmalin Utd's protests and gave Brenan McAlphie a yellow card for diving instead. Brenan McAlphie hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. In the 38th minute, Beale MaCollin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Castlecarra Utd's Donlan Gallagher played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Scot Caffrey in the 41st minute of play. If Herich McTommy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Scot Caffrey made a kick off. Donlan Gallagher made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Scot Caffrey in the 53rd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lee Harkin in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kevis Caffey saved Carnmalin Utd from getting behind. If Herich McTommy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 59 minutes, Scot Caffrey managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Carnmalin Utd's supporters crossed their fingers, but Scot Caffrey was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Donlan Gallagher stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Herich McTommy's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. Donlan Gallagher showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Scot Caffrey, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. In the 74th minute, Scot Caffrey ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Donlan Gallagher was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. The audience was convinced that Scot Caffrey's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Donlan Gallagher was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. After 89 minutes of play, Carnmalin Utd's Scot Caffrey made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Donlan Gallagher was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Carnmalin Utd booed when Castlecarra Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Herich Harkin didn't get a good kick on the ball.
