Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Oliver McBrand started the match with the kick off. Rorry Mulvihill showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fintan McFrancise, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Strand's attack was well implemented in the 6th minute, but when Nollaig McBrand was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. After 7 played minutes Clooncan got a freekick which was hit by Comhghall Deery. Brenan Gillmour made a fantastic save in the 8th minute, when Nollaig McBrand sent off a good shot on target. Rorry Mulvihill made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fintan McFrancise in the 12th minute of play. Strand's Rorry Mulvihill played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fintan McFrancise in the 13th minute of play. 18 minutes into the match, Clooncan's goalkeeper Brenan Gillmour had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nollaig McBrand. Rorry Mulvihill showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fintan McFrancise in the 21st minute of the match. Donlan Jameson hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. 23 minutes into the match, Strand's goal looked a bit too open when Fintan McFrancise came free, but Rorry Mulvihill reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fintan McFrancise received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Rorry Mulvihill tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rylie Johnson in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rorry Mulvihill saved Strand from getting behind. A collision led to Strand getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Randal Benson hit a great ball. Rylie Johnson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Rorry Mulvihill tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 52nd minute, Barnaby Delaney hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fintan McFrancise might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rorry Mulvihill. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fintan McFrancise ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 55th minute, Donlan Jameson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Strand's Rorry Mulvihill played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fintan McFrancise in the 60th minute of play. The supporters of Clooncan booed when Strand was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Louie McLaughlin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bracken Dempsey recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Clooncan's zone, Nollaig McBrand stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brenan Gillmour came out of the goal and Nollaig McBrand tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 79th minute, Oliver McBrand ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Brenan Gillmour was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Fintan McFrancise sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 89 minutes, Teigue Costello mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Clooncan and the Strand players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 89 played minutes Clooncan got a freekick which was hit by Teigue Costello. Brenan Gillmour made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oliver McBrand in the 94th minute of play. Rylie Johnson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Rorry Mulvihill tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Strand were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Clooncan for a fine match.
