In the 30th minute, Nollaig McBrand got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 33 minutes, Nollaig McBrand managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Strand's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nollaig McBrand was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Oliver McBrand received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Barrie McGlynn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Denny Morrison sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Oliver McBrand made a kick off. Rorry Mulvihill showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Denny Morrison in the 54th minute of the match. Barde McMichel might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rorry Mulvihill. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Barde McMichel ran back to his position shaking his head. Denny Morrison fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rorry Mulvihill having to interfere. Barrie McGlynn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oliver McBrand, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nollaig McBrand fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Barrie McGlynn having to interfere. Randal Benson's late challenge caught a Beaumont FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Randal Benson helped the player get up and apologised. After 77 played minutes Strand got a freekick which was hit by Randal Benson. If Nollaig McBrand had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 85th minute, Strand's Donlan Jameson dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-2. Strand were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
