When Kaine Kelly came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Corlisheen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kaine Kelly couldn't finish the play. Bressail McDonald showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fintan McFrancise, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Bressail McDonald showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fintan McFrancise in the 12th minute of the match. Rylie Johnson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bressail McDonald read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. In the 15th minute, Rylie Johnson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bressail McDonald was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Kaine Kelly who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 20thth minute tested the skills of Brenan Gillmour when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Rylie Johnson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Bressail McDonald tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Daithi Gollogley during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 23 played minutes Corlisheen got a freekick which was hit by Daithi Gollogley . With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fintan McFrancise in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bressail McDonald saved Corlisheen from getting behind. When Comhghall Deery fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Clooncan's protests and gave Comhghall Deery a yellow card for diving instead. In the 36th minute, Comhghall Deery hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Clooncan's Fintan McFrancise in the 40th minute got a chance for a shot 40th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Corlisheen's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fintan McFrancise in the 47th minute of play forced Corlisheen's goalkeeper Bressail McDonald to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kaine Kelly made a kick off. Rylie Johnson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Corlisheen's Bressail McDonald played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fintan McFrancise in the 62nd minute of play. If Rylie Johnson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Corlisheen's zone, Rylie Johnson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bressail McDonald came out of the goal and Rylie Johnson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 75th match minute, Clooncan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bracken Dempsey to maneuver through the defense. Bressail McDonald was out of position in the 78 minute of play, and Teigue Costello capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Teigue Costello really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. Bressail McDonald took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fintan McFrancise, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 93 minutes into the match, Corlisheen's goalkeeper Bressail McDonald had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rylie Johnson. An unexpected shot in the 94th minute by Fintan McFrancise got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The Corlisheen fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Clooncan were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
