Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Darick John took the kick off in the first half of the match. The supporters of Ballyboggan FC booed when Ballyroe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pauric Matthews didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Brendon Cassin came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Ballyroe fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Brendon Cassin couldn't finish the play. In the 20th match minute, Ballyboggan FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bradaigh Doyle to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Darick John kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Teigue Callaghan. That made the score 1-0 in the 27 minute of play. Brendon Cassin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Teigue Callaghan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Darick John in the 32nd minute of the match. Ballyroe's Brendon Cassin got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Ballyboggan FC's Blamhac Dimson got a free kick in the 35th minute. Danann McJon charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Danann McJon the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 37 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ballyroe! Cahir McJohnny fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Binean Delaney having to interfere. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gil Branson was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 84 minutes, Darick John managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ballyroe's supporters crossed their fingers, but Darick John was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Teigue Callaghan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brendon Cassin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
