Spectators: 6776 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1776, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Scott Cassin started the match with the kick off. Ballyboggan FC's Blamhac Dimson got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gil Branson struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. Tirloch McOliver didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ballyboggan FC. Teigue Callaghan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Scott Cassin, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Teigue Callaghan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Scott Cassin in the 7th minute of the match. Toran Brennan charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Toran Brennan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 16 minutes into the game, Bradaigh Doyle was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ballyboggan FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Meenaward Utd the free kick. In the 16th minute, Bradaigh Doyle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Bradaigh Doyle was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 19 minutes had been played. The supporters of Meenaward Utd booed when Ballyboggan FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bradaigh Doyle didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 20th minute of the match Declan Willson shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Teigue Callaghan showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 21st minute, Blamhac Dimson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 22 minutes into the match, Ballyboggan FC's goal looked a bit too open when Scott Cassin came free, but Teigue Callaghan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Teigue Callaghan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nollaig McGlenn, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Toran Brennan kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. After 37 minutes, Nollaig McGlenn mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Meenaward Utd and the Ballyboggan FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 37th match minute, Meenaward Utd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nollaig McGlenn to maneuver through the defense. Teigue Callaghan came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by Meenaward Utd's Brenna Costello. But to his dismay, Brenna Costello quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After 45 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ballyboggan FC! The Ballyboggan FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Meenaward Utd were winning 0-1.

A collision led to Ballyboggan FC getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Gil Branson hit a great ball. In the 55th minute of the match Declan Willson sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Teigue Callaghan skillfully saved the ball. If Cahir McJohnny had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot 61 in the game by Nollaig McGlenn from a close distance when the talented Teigue Callaghan managed to make a qualified save. Ballyboggan FC's players were relieved. Scott Cassin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teigue Callaghan having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Ballyboggan FC's Rourke Beckett got a free kick in the 64th minute. After 65 played minutes, Meenaward Utd's Declan Willson shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Teigue Callaghan came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Meenaward Utd reached it. Nollaig McGlenn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teigue Callaghan having to interfere. After 67 minutes, Bowie McLaughlin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ballyboggan FC and the Meenaward Utd players grew even worse after the yellow card. Nollaig McGlenns short, quick shot in the 85thth minute got Teigue Callaghan to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 86 minutes into the game, Scott Cassin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Meenaward Utd's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ballyboggan FC the free kick. Meenaward Utd's Cleary Cassin got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Meenaward Utd fans' excitement grew in the 92nd match minute when Meenaward Utd's Nollaig McGlenn looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Meenaward Utd walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
