Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Blamhac Dimson in the 3rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Healy Rutherford prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Barin Morrison kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Baptist O'Down took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 9th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Healy Rutherford. Clonbulloge AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Healy Rutherford showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cahir McJohnny in the 11th minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 14 minutes, Teigue Callaghan successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Lee Gillmour took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 15th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Teigue Callaghan. Ballyboggan FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 16th minute, Blamhac Dimson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thom Grant sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Healy Rutherford showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cahir McJohnny in the 22nd minute of the match. A collision led to Clonbulloge AFC getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Harold Johnson hit a great ball. If Thom Grant had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Clonbulloge AFC booed when Ballyboggan FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gil Branson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gil Branson might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Healy Rutherford. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gil Branson ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Ballyboggan FC getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Dermot Caffrey hit a great ball. Thom Grant received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Teigue Callaghan came out and tried to block the shot, but Thom Grant slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 46th minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gil Branson to make the kick off. A collision led to Ballyboggan FC getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Blamhac Dimson hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice moves Cahir McJohnny could shoot a difficult shot in the 54th minute, which Healy Rutherford however easily saved by the left post. With a little luck, Clonbulloge AFC's Healy Rutherford got control of the ball when Cahir McJohnny tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gil Branson in the 69th minute of play forced Clonbulloge AFC's goalkeeper Healy Rutherford to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Clonbulloge AFC's Lee Gillmour got a free kick in the 76th minute. Healy Rutherford showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gil Branson, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. If Gil Branson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Teigue Callaghan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Donell Colwell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Blamhac Dimson hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thom Grant in the 95th minute of play forced Ballyboggan FC's goalkeeper Teigue Callaghan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ballyboggan FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Clonbulloge AFC.
