The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cleary Duggan's late challenge caught a Ballyvaughan AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cleary Duggan helped the player get up and apologised. In the 2nd minute, Cleary Duggan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cleary Duggan got his second yellow card in the match during the 5th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After a rather tough play, Rampart's Cleary Duggan got a free kick in the 5th minute. Breannain Crowe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Breaghdha Dempsey, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Colmcille Sheridan's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 13thth minute, Paud Todd skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Breannain Crowe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Beckett O'Neill in the 15th minute of play. 17 minutes into the match, Rampart's Cleary Cooney sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Paud Todd narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 20 minutes into the match, Rampart's goal looked a bit too open when Breaghdha Dempsey came free, but Breannain Crowe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Rampart getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Bairre Palmer hit a great ball. In the 23rd minute, Gehan Matthews hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ballyvaughan AFC's Paud Todd proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Ballyvaughan AFC from getting a goal against them. When Ballyvaughan AFC's Breaghdha Dempsey in the 32nd minute got a chance for a shot 32nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Rampart's goalie prevented a goal. When Barclay Crowe fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rampart's protests and gave Barclay Crowe a yellow card for diving instead. In the 39th minute, one of Rampart:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Rampart. Rampart:s Breannain Crowe showed great skill when he stopped Gehan Matthews :s penalty. After a defensive mix-up in Rampart's zone, Breaghdha Dempsey stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Breannain Crowe came out of the goal and Breaghdha Dempsey tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Colmcille Sheridan was the one to do the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Barley Brennan in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Paud Todd saved Ballyvaughan AFC from getting behind. When Beckett O'Neill fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ballyvaughan AFC's protests and gave Beckett O'Neill a yellow card for diving instead. Beckett O'Neill hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Colmcille Sheridan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Paud Todd tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Colmcille Sheridan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paud Todd having to interfere. Colmcille Sheridan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Paud Todd tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Colmcille Sheridan in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Paud Todd prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Paud Todd took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cleary Cooney, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Paud Todd showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Colmcille Sheridan, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. After 77 minutes of play, Rampart's Colmcille Sheridan made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Paud Todd was left in no man's land by his defense there! Colmcille Sheridan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paud Todd having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Rampart's Leonard Horgan got a free kick in the 86th minute. Gehan Matthews was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 87th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. When Theodore Doyle came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Ballyvaughan AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Theodore Doyle couldn't finish the play. Colmcille Sheridan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Paud Todd tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Colmcille Sheridan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paud Todd having to interfere. Rampart's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
