Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Davie McWill got the match started through his kick off. In the 4th minute Davie McWill shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Binean Delaney saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 14 minutes, Davie McWill managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Killeagh's supporters crossed their fingers, but Davie McWill was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Killeagh booed when Ballyroe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pauric Matthews didn't get a good kick on the ball. Killeagh's Benedict Perth proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Killeagh from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Ballyroe booed when Killeagh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Suibhne Brennan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benedict Perth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Darick John in the 38th minute of play. Darick John fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benedict Perth having to interfere. If Brendon Cassin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When Banban Hamilton came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Killeagh fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Banban Hamilton couldn't finish the play. 59 minutes into the match, Ballyroe's Brendon Cassin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Benedict Perth narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Banban Hamilton fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. In the 94th minute Davie McWill shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Binean Delaney saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 97 minutes into the match, Killeagh's goal looked a bit too open when Darick John came free, but Benedict Perth reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Killeagh's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
