Spectators: 6762 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1762, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Gil Branson started the match with the kick off. After 2 minutes, Blamhac Dimson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ballyboggan FC and the Ballyvaughan AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 3 played minutes Ballyboggan FC got a freekick which was hit by Blamhac Dimson. With his leg Teigue Callaghan managed to avoid a goal in the 4thth minute, when Ballyvaughan AFC's Breaghdha Dempsey fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 6 minutes into the match, Ballyboggan FC's goalkeeper Teigue Callaghan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Breaghdha Dempsey. Blamhac Dimson hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Gehan Matthews was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 10th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Theodore Doyle in the 12th minute of play forced Ballyboggan FC's goalkeeper Teigue Callaghan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Ballyvaughan AFC's zone, Cahir McJohnny stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paud Todd came out of the goal and Cahir McJohnny tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ballyvaughan AFC's Paud Todd played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bradaigh Doyle in the 17th minute of play. Breaghdha Dempsey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 22nd minute Theodore Doyle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teigue Callaghan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 25 minutes into the match, Ballyvaughan AFC's Theodore Doyle sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Teigue Callaghan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Cahir McJohnny had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Breaghdha Dempsey got free with Teigue Callaghan in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bowie McLaughlin in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Paud Todd prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Teigue Callaghan was a little too slow when Theodore Doyle got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 38th minute. The score was now 1-0. In the 46th minute Theodore Doyle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teigue Callaghan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The wind increased when Theodore Doyle made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 61 minutes, Cahir McJohnny managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ballyboggan FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cahir McJohnny was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Theodore Doyle in the 63rd minute of play forced Ballyboggan FC's goalkeeper Teigue Callaghan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cahir McJohnnys short, quick shot in the 66thth minute got Paud Todd to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Teigue Callaghan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Theodore Doyle in the 74th minute of play. Gil Branson kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Bradaigh Doyle's late challenge caught a Ballyvaughan AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bradaigh Doyle helped the player get up and apologised. In the 78th minute, Bradaigh Doyle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Ballyvaughan AFC's Theodore Doyle in the 80th minute got a chance for a shot 80th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ballyboggan FC's goalie prevented a goal. Teigue Callaghan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Theodore Doyle, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Teigue Callaghan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Theodore Doyle in the 83rd minute of play. A collision led to Ballyboggan FC getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Bowie McLaughlin hit a great ball. 85 minutes into the match, Ballyboggan FC's goal looked a bit too open when Breaghdha Dempsey came free, but Teigue Callaghan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Teigue Callaghan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Theodore Doyle in the 87th minute of the match. Cahir McJohnny fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paud Todd having to interfere. Beckett O'Neill's late challenge caught a Ballyboggan FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Beckett O'Neill helped the player get up and apologised. Teigue Callaghan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Theodore Doyle in the 96th minute of play. Many of Ballyboggan FC's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Ballyboggan FC may have spent more time on the ball, but Ballyvaughan AFC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
