The tension between the Mulroog and the Ballyboggan FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Teigue Callaghan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gil Byrne in the 15th minute of the match. When Toran Cassin came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Mulroog fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Toran Cassin couldn't finish the play. Cahir McJohnny sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gil Byrne received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Teigue Callaghan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gil Branson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Gil Byrne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 62nd match minute, Mulroog was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rourke Deans to maneuver through the defense. In the 69th minute Toran Cassin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teigue Callaghan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Toran Cassin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Toran Cassin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Gil Byrne managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mulroog's supporters rose to their feet, but Gil Byrne was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Teigue Callaghan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Ballyboggan FC booed when Mulroog was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gil Byrne didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dawayne Palmer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Teigue Callaghan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
