Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Knockrath AFC's Bram McGlynn started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The crowd rose to their feet as Bram McGlynn kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Teris Rogers. That made the score 1-0 in the 3 minute of play. Knockrath AFC's Bradagain Murphy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bartel Prunty in the 7th minute of play. Reilley Ghee could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Teris Rogers made a huge save. In the 11th minute, Breadan Molloy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lynnbury's Teris Rogers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Turlough Deery in the 14th minute of play. Bartel Prunty recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bradagain Murphy stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Braoin Beckett's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. Bram McGlynn charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bram McGlynn the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 25 played minutes Knockrath AFC got a freekick which was hit by Bram McGlynn. Bartel Prunty received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Bradagain Murphy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 28 minutes into the match, Knockrath AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Bartel Prunty came free, but Bradagain Murphy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Reilley Ghee's late challenge caught a Lynnbury's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Reilley Ghee helped the player get up and apologised. In the 31st minute of the match, Bram McGlynn tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Teris Rogers saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bartel Prunty in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bradagain Murphy saved Knockrath AFC from getting behind. Bartel Prunty might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bradagain Murphy. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bartel Prunty ran back to his position shaking his head. Bradagain Murphy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bartel Prunty, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 39 minutes into the match, Bartel Prunty had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bradagain Murphy. Knockrath AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bartel Prunty was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. The supporters of Lynnbury booed when Knockrath AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Turlough Deery didn't get a good kick on the ball. 43 minutes into the match, Braoin Beckett had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bradagain Murphy. Knockrath AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Braoin Beckett was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. Braoin Beckett's late challenge caught a Knockrath AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Braoin Beckett helped the player get up and apologised. In the 46th match minute, Lynnbury was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Braoin Beckett to maneuver through the defense. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bartel Prunty was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Lynnbury's Beag Lavine got a free kick in the 56th minute. In the 57th minute of the match Torin McDonald sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Teris Rogers skillfully saved the ball. In the 59th minute of the match Donn Dunne shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bradagain Murphy showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 60 minutes into the match, Bartel Prunty notched a goal, 1-5, to the right of Knockrath AFC's Bradagain Murphy. Bradagain Murphy was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, Knockrath AFC's Turlough Deery got a free kick in the 64th minute. Bartel Prunty fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bradagain Murphy having to interfere. Bartel Prunty could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Bradagain Murphy made a huge save. Lynnbury's Teris Rogers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bram McGlynn in the 73rd minute of play. Bartel Prunty could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Bradagain Murphy made a huge save. A hard shot 82 in the game by Bartel Prunty from a close distance when the talented Bradagain Murphy managed to make a qualified save. Knockrath AFC's players were relieved. Bradagain Murphy came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by Lynnbury's Bartel Prunty. But to his dismay, Bartel Prunty quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-7. Bradagain Murphy stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bartel Prunty's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. In the 91st minute, Reilley Ghee got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bradagain Murphy acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 96th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Sheridan Todd. The Knockrath AFC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Lynnbury's performance. The match ended with a win for Lynnbury.
