Cregganbaun's Torrian Dunne played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bram McGlynn in the 15th minute of play. Bradagain Murphy stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Troy Mulvihill's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. In the 26th minute, Bram McGlynn left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Knockrath AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Reilley Ghee got free with Torrian Dunne in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Torrian Dunne made an important save on a dangerous shot by Reilley Ghee in the 37th minute. Cregganbaun's Torrian Dunne proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Cregganbaun from getting a goal against them. Bradagain Murphy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Troy Mulvihill in the 43rd minute of play. Knockrath AFC's Reilley Ghee got a good chance for a goal in the 49th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bram McGlynn to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Troy Mulvihill got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Troy Mulvihill had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Knockrath AFC booed when Cregganbaun was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hickey Silke didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Bram McGlynn managed to get in a good position for a shot. Knockrath AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Bram McGlynn was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Torrian Dunne breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bram McGlynn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Torrian Dunne having to interfere. Knockrath AFC's Bradagain Murphy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Troy Mulvihill in the 70th minute of play. Bradagain Murphy made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Hickey Silke sent off a good shot on target. Torrian Dunne took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bram McGlynn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 73rd minute, Keely Doherty hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Torrian Dunne showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reilley Ghee, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Keely Doherty kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Knockrath AFC's Bellaghy Frankson couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Cregganbaun. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ryleigh Morrison during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Knockrath AFC booed when Cregganbaun was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ryleigh Morrison didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bram McGlynn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Torrian Dunne tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Reilley Ghee struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Torrian Dunne didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Knockrath AFC. Troy Mulvihill fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bradagain Murphy having to interfere. Knockrath AFC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
