Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Barney Lavine took the kick off in the first half of the match. After 6 minutes of play, Kilcotton's Barney Lavine made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Roy McPeter was left in no man's land by his defense there! Baine McTommy recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Barney Lavine's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Roy McPeter was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. When Barney Lavine fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kilcotton's protests and gave Barney Lavine a yellow card for diving instead. After 30 played minutes Kilcotton got a freekick which was hit by Barney Lavine. Bran Hutton was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Baine McTommy showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 32 minute of play. In the 37th minute Barney Lavine shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roy McPeter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hickey Dempsey's late challenge caught a Kilcotton's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hickey Dempsey helped the player get up and apologised. Barney Lavine kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. A collision led to Cloonakilleg getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Hickey Dempsey hit a great ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Baine McTommy made a kick off. Kilcotton's Justin Martyn suffered a concussion after 53 minutes and had to leave the field. After 53 minutes, Bradain Deans mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cloonakilleg and the Kilcotton players grew even worse after the yellow card. After having played for 60 minutes, Baine McTommy managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cloonakilleg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Baine McTommy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Baine McTommy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bran Hutton having to interfere. In the 77th minute, Hickey Dempsey hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 82 minutes into the game, Hickey Dempsey threw the ball into play from the sideline. Kilcotton's Beltany Coyle quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Baine McTommy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Despite being the better team, Kilcotton failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
