With a couple of smart ball manuevers Keegan McJohnny in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joseph Rutherford saved Ballygorteen Utd from getting behind. Desmond Costello's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 25thth minute, Joseph Rutherford skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Keegan McJohnny was extremely unlucky when he, in the 28th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Desmond Costello struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Joseph Rutherford didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tine. Patrick Branson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Harrigan McVictor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 38th minute, Tine's Keegan McJohnny dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. Riley Callaghan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Keegan McJohnny made a kick off. In the 54th match minute, Tine was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Blanche McNamee to maneuver through the defense. Flann Matthews charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Flann Matthews the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 58 played minutes Tine got a freekick which was hit by Flann Matthews. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patrick Branson in the 65th minute of play forced Tine's goalkeeper Harrigan McVictor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Patrick Branson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Harrigan McVictor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tine's Desmond Costello got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Keegan McJohnny came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Tine fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Keegan McJohnny couldn't finish the play. Harrigan McVictor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patrick Branson in the 79th minute of play. Harrigan McVictor was a little too slow when Patrick Branson got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 80th minute. The score was now 2-1. In the 83rd minute Patrick Branson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Harrigan McVictor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 86 minutes, Ainnle McWilliam managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tine's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ainnle McWilliam was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Riley Callaghan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joseph Rutherford showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Desmond Costello in the 92nd minute of the match. If Patrick Branson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Ballygorteen Utd's Berrach McJames got a free kick in the 96th minute. Tine's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
