Spectators: 7500 (Terracing: 5550, Seating: 1800, VIP seats: 150) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Santa Cavia started the match with the kick off. A hard shot 4 in the game by Santa Cavia from a close distance when the talented Hewney McWilliam managed to make a qualified save. Slievebane AFC's players were relieved. Paud Mulvihill did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Hewney McWilliam 7 minutes into the match. Santa Cavia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Hewney McWilliam made a huge save. 14 minutes into the match, Platoon Column's Paud Mulvihill sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hewney McWilliam narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 16th minute Blavock McDonald shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hewney McWilliam saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hewney McWilliam made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Paud Mulvihill sent off a good shot on target. With his leg Hewney McWilliam managed to avoid a goal in the 18thth minute, when Platoon Column's Santa Cavia fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Paud Mulvihill sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 23 minutes into the game, Donn Holt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Slievebane AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Platoon Column the free kick. Donn Holt kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. 27 minutes into the match, Paud Mulvihill notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Slievebane AFC's Hewney McWilliam. Hewney McWilliam was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 30th minute, Joshua McJames hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Brian McLiam during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 31st match minute, Slievebane AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brian McLiam to maneuver through the defense. Platoon Column's Blavock McDonald got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 33rd minute, Santa Cavia ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hewney McWilliam was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Santa Cavia came free with the goalkeeper in the 39th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Hewney McWilliam could save by the left post. Kyle Ferguson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Santa Cavias short, quick shot in the 47thth minute got Hewney McWilliam to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Theobald McSteven to make the kick off. Hewney McWilliam took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paud Mulvihill, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Santa Cavia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Platoon Column's supporters rose to their feet, but Santa Cavia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hewney McWilliam breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Slievebane AFC's Hewney McWilliam played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paud Mulvihill in the 64th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Blavock McDonald managed to get in a good position for a shot. Platoon Column's supporters rose to their feet, but Blavock McDonald was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hewney McWilliam breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Paud Mulvihill had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 74thth minute of the game Santa Cavia who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Slievebane AFC's Hewney McWilliam was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 78 minutes into the match, Slievebane AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Santa Cavia came free, but Hewney McWilliam reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hewney McWilliam came out of the goal in the 79th minute to try and stop a shot by Platoon Column's Santa Cavia. But to his dismay, Santa Cavia quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. Hewney McWilliam made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brandon Mullan in the 83rd minute of play. When the match had gone on for 85 minutes, Santa Cavia put it in 7-0 from a short distance just to the right of Hewney McWilliam. Platoon Column's Santa Cavia got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hewney McWilliam showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Santa Cavia in the 95th minute of the match. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Platoon Column had played much better football throughout.
