Brett Gallagher showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Trien McMichel, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Darby Myler struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Boethis McGlenn didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Deportivo Piqueteros. Brett Gallagher stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Trien McMichel's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. After 19 minutes of play, Callan's Trien McMichel made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Brett Gallagher was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Roordan Crowe fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Callan's protests and gave Roordan Crowe a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Callan getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Roordan Crowe hit a great ball. The long shot by Brenda McOliver in the 24th minute really tested Boethis McGlenn's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Trien McMichel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Callan's supporters rose to their feet, but Trien McMichel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Brett Gallagher breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 30 minutes into the game, Keelin John was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Callan's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Deportivo Piqueteros the free kick. Keelin John hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Callan's Trien McMichel got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Trien McMichel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Brett Gallagher tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 47 minutes into the game, Giles Sheridan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Brett Gallagher was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Brenda Keegan made a kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Giles Sheridan got free with Brett Gallagher in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Trien McMichel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 61 minutes into the game, Brenda Keegan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Boethis McGlenn was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Terence Caffey came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Deportivo Piqueteros fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Terence Caffey couldn't finish the play. 67 minutes into the match, Callan's goal looked a bit too open when Darby Myler came free, but Boethis McGlenn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 70 minutes into the game, one of Deportivo Piqueteros:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Deportivo Piqueteros:s Brett Gallagher showed great skill when he stopped Raymun Taylor:s penalty. In the 72nd minute of the match Callan got a corner. Deportivo Piqueteros's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Raymun Taylor ran over to the corner to take the kick. Callan's Keelin John was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Brett Gallagher in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 79th minute of the game. One of Deportivo Piqueteros:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Callan:s goal. Giles Sheridan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Brett Gallagher made an important save on a dangerous shot by Trien McMichel in the 98th minute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Callan walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
