The crowd rose to their feet as Kerrigan Brennan kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Hickey Taylor. That made the score 1-0 in the 14 minute of play. In the 22nd minute Blanche McNamee shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Declan McWillie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The POKER WOMAN fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hickey Taylor should have stopped the shot. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Breen Martyn made a kick off. Declan McWillie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Blanche McNamee, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Kerrigan Brennan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kerrigan Brennan couldn't finish the play.
