It was beautiful to see Freneystown's Fergus Silke in action when he in the 29th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! In the 33rd match minute, FC Barca Cork was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kevion Mullan to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Gordon Prunty managed to get in a good position for a shot. Freneystown's supporters rose to their feet, but Gordon Prunty was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Geralt McNamara was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Phillip McJon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gordon Prunty blasted a shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Geralt McNamara having to make a save. After 93 minutes of play, Freneystown's Bantry Mulvihill made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Geralt McNamara was left in no man's land by his defense there! Freneystown's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
