Spectators: 8007 (Terracing: 6007, Seating: 1841, VIP seats: 159) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Seoirse Dillon started the match with the kick off. Seoirse Dillon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brann Ferguson having to interfere. In the 5th minute, Seoirse Dillon got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Oliver McStephen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fethard's supporters rose to their feet, but Oliver McStephen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Geralt McNamara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 9th minute, Blathmac Caffrey got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Oliver McStephen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 15thth minute of the game Blathmac Caffrey who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Barca Cork's Geralt McNamara was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After having played for 18 minutes, Glenn McJon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Barca Cork's supporters crossed their fingers, but Glenn McJon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. FC Barca Cork's Geralt McNamara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oliver McStephen in the 21st minute of play. Logan Bayes's late challenge caught a Fethard's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Logan Bayes helped the player get up and apologised. In the 27th match minute, FC Barca Cork was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Logan Bayes to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Fethard's Brann Ferguson got control of the ball when Tory Lester tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 36th minute, Tory Lester made a precise shot to the right of Brann Ferguson. Fethard's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. When Glenn McJon came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the FC Barca Cork fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Glenn McJon couldn't finish the play. In the 44th minute, Blathmac Caffrey ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Geralt McNamara was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Oliver McStephen to make the kick off. Oliver McStephen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Glenn McJon might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Brann Ferguson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Glenn McJon ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of FC Barca Cork booed when Fethard was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brannon McTom didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, FC Barca Cork's Phillip McPhil tried to score from far away in the 62nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Brann Ferguson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Seoirse Dillon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 68 minutes, Blathmac Caffrey managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fethard's supporters crossed their fingers, but Blathmac Caffrey was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oliver McStephen in the 70th minute of play forced FC Barca Cork's goalkeeper Geralt McNamara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tory Lester received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Brann Ferguson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, FC Barca Cork's Boyd Ferguson got a free kick in the 85th minute. Geralt McNamara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oliver McStephen, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Oliver McStephen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Geralt McNamara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 96 minutes into the match, Fethard's goal looked a bit too open when Glenn McJon came free, but Brann Ferguson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fethard's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
