After 28 played minutes Washington got a freekick which was hit by Brandan John. A sloppy throw-in by Bricin McNamara in the 31st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Ballybrittas's Breadan Byrne. After a rather tough play, Ballybrittas's Britain Grant got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Brandan John's late challenge caught a Ballybrittas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Brandan John helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Washington's Brandan John got a free kick in the 44th minute. 48 minutes into the match, Washington's goal looked a bit too open when Harkin McPhilip came free, but Theodore McNamara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Shamus McGlynn was the one to do the kick off. After 51 played minutes Ballybrittas got a freekick which was hit by Bealtaine McPhil. Britain Grant kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Barcvni Costello blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Theodore McNamara having to make a save. Barcvni Costello might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Theodore McNamara. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Barcvni Costello ran back to his position shaking his head. Barcvni Costello struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Theodore McNamara didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ballybrittas. 77 minutes into the game, Barcvni Costello cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Theodore McNamara was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Ballybrittas's Britain Grant got a free kick in the 80th minute. In the 81st minute, Conan Barrett got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bray Caffey in the 85th minute of play forced Washington's goalkeeper Theodore McNamara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Washington players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Ballybrittas.
