After 11 played minutes, Rinbrack's Binnech McLaughlin shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Devlin Duggan came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Rinbrack reached it. Devlin Duggan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rannal Coyle in the 12th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Laochra's zone, Cashel McTommy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Devlin Duggan came out of the goal and Cashel McTommy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aban McFrank kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Gavin McOliver charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gavin McOliver the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 20th match minute, Laochra was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gavin McOliver to maneuver through the defense. In the 21st minute, Cashel McTommy ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Devlin Duggan was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Blaine Doherty fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Devlin Duggan having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cashel McTommy in the 27th minute of play forced Laochra's goalkeeper Devlin Duggan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Barhart Todd sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Barhart Todd received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Beiti McSteven tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 34 minutes into the game, Rinbrack's Rannal Coyle nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Devlin Duggan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. In the 37th minute Cashel McTommy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Devlin Duggan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hayes Glen Crowe's late challenge caught a Rinbrack's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hayes Glen Crowe helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Laochra getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Hayes Glen Crowe hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cashel McTommy in the 41st minute of play forced Laochra's goalkeeper Devlin Duggan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Devlin Duggan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rannal Coyle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rinbrack were awarded a corner in the 49th minute after Laochra's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Binnech McLaughlin took the corner. Rinbrack's Binnech McLaughlin was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Devlin Duggan in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The supporters of Rinbrack booed when Laochra was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fergal McStephen didn't get a good kick on the ball. 60 minutes into the match, Laochra's goalkeeper Devlin Duggan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cashel McTommy. Laochra's Devlin Duggan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rannal Coyle in the 61st minute of play. 62 minutes into the match, Laochra's goalkeeper Devlin Duggan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cashel McTommy. Laochra's Devlin Duggan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Laochra from getting a goal against them. When Donlan Gallagher fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Laochra's protests and gave Donlan Gallagher a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Laochra's Donlan Gallagher got a free kick in the 75th minute. Devlin Duggan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pearse Rutherford in the 80th minute. In the 82nd minute Blaine Doherty shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Devlin Duggan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee ignored Laochra's protests and gave Riddoc Martyn a yellow card for diving instead. After 93 played minutes Laochra got a freekick which was hit by Riddoc Martyn. The crowd rose to their feet as Rinbrack's Rannal Coyle slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Devlin Duggan. That made the score 0-4 after 96 minutes of play.
