Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Brann Palmer made the kick off and thus started the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Paudraig McAaron during the 5th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Dowdallshill's Paudraig McAaron got a free kick in the 5th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brann Palmer in the 8th minute of play forced Firmount's goalkeeper Blathmacc McLaughlin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Geralt Silke during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Dowdallshill's Geralt Silke got a free kick in the 10th minute. 13 minutes into the game, Seosamh McNamara was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Dowdallshill's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Firmount the free kick. After 14 played minutes Dowdallshill got a freekick which was hit by Seosamh McNamara. Brett Mullan made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Barney McCready sent off a good shot on target. If Brann Palmer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Brett Mullan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rordan McJon in the 26th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rordan McJon stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Dowdallshill's Brett Mullan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Barney McCready in the 53rd minute of play. In the 54th match minute, Dowdallshill was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paudraig McAaron to maneuver through the defense. Brett Mullan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Barney McCready, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Paudraig McAaron kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Barney McCready in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Brett Mullan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 62nd minute, Barney McCready got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Brett Mullan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rordan McJon in the 73rd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Barney McCready's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Brett Mullan was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. Brett Mullan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rordan McJon, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Brett Mullan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rordan McJon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 85 minutes, Paudraig McAaron took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Blathmacc McLaughlin to make any attempt to save it. In the 88th minute, Rordan McJon got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 91st minute Barney McCready shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brett Mullan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Barney McCready sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Firmount had played much better football throughout.
