The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a little luck, Ireland Monsters's Bebhinn Hunt got control of the ball when Bowie McFrank tried to sneak it across the goal line. 10 minutes into the match, FC Rosports's goal looked a bit too open when Derrick McBjarton came free, but Gavin Caffrey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Brede Delaney had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 18th minute, Bowie McFrank left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Rosports fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Bebhinn Hunt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brede Delaney, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Breenan Grant kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bowie McFrank got free with Bebhinn Hunt in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. FC Rosports's Keely Hamilton shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 31st minute of play. The shot was stopped by Bebhinn Hunt but with some difficulty. 34 minutes into the match, Ireland Monsters's goalkeeper Bebhinn Hunt had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bowie McFrank. Bebhinn Hunt made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Bercan Quinnless sent off a good shot on target. Banvan McJohn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gavin Caffrey having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Breenan Grant during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Breenan Grant hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Brede Delaney made the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute Bowie McFrank shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bebhinn Hunt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bebhinn Hunt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brede Delaney, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. After a rather tough play, Ireland Monsters's Carrig McWilliam got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Ireland Monsters were furious when Glenn McPeter was red carded, 64 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 64 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ireland Monsters! In the 66th minute there was a penalty for FC Rosports. Jonathan McPeter stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Bebhinn Hunt. 2-1. Bercan Quinnless hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Derrick McBjarton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Gavin Caffrey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. FC Rosports's defense didn't have a chance, in the 88th minute, when Derrick McBjarton scored to the left of an out of position Gavin Caffrey, making the score, 2-2. In the 92nd match minute, FC Rosports was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brede Delaney to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bowie McFrank in the 97th minute of play forced Ireland Monsters's goalkeeper Bebhinn Hunt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Despite being the better team, Ireland Monsters failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
