With 8 minutes on the clock, Glenn McPeter commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 10th minute there was a penalty for Salia Sparta Club. Gilbeirt Savic stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Bebhinn Hunt. 1-0. Banvan McJohn took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Colm Quinnless. Colm Quinnless dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. In the 22nd minute, Derrick McBjarton left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ireland Monsters fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Derrick McBjarton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Derrick McBjarton came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Ireland Monsters fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Derrick McBjarton couldn't finish the play. In the 30th minute, Derrick McBjarton left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ireland Monsters fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Ireland Monsters's Beollan Scully got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Salia Sparta Club's goalkeeper Colm Quinnless, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Derrick McBjarton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Beollan Scully hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Salia Sparta Club's zone, Derrick McBjarton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Colm Quinnless came out of the goal and Derrick McBjarton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bren Branson made a kick off. After 51 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ireland Monsters! In the 53rd minute there was a penalty for Salia Sparta Club. Gilbeirt Savic stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Bebhinn Hunt. 2-3. Heron Gallagher sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bebhinn Hunt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Heron Gallagher, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Heron Gallagher received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Bebhinn Hunt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Derrick McBjarton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Heron Gallagher in the 68th minute of play forced Ireland Monsters's goalkeeper Bebhinn Hunt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ireland Monsters's Beollan Scully got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Ireland Monsters's Carrig McWilliam got a free kick in the 86th minute. With a little luck, Salia Sparta Club's Colm Quinnless got control of the ball when Banvan McJohn tried to sneak it across the goal line. Derrick McBjarton recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ireland Monsters's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
