In the 6th match minute, Bohemian FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bree Hutton to maneuver through the defense. Reamann Dalton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Leonard McWilliam tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Reamann Dalton's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leonard McWilliam was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. In the 18th minute, Theodore McJames hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Shiel Cooney took the ball and in the 21 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Leonard McWilliam. Leonard McWilliam dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Leahgarrow FC's Ferdia Cassin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Leahgarrow FC from getting a goal against them. Leahgarrow FC's Shiel Cooney got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Bohemian FC booed when Leahgarrow FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Shane Kelly didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Shiel Cooney in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leonard McWilliam prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 33 minutes, Brain MaCollin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Leahgarrow FC and the Bohemian FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Leahgarrow FC getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Brain MaCollin hit a great ball. Shiel Cooney's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Leonard McWilliam read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. 37 minutes into the match, Leahgarrow FC's Reamann Dalton sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Leonard McWilliam narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Shiel Cooney fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonard McWilliam having to interfere. In the 42nd minute, Shiel Cooney got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Leonard McWilliam showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reamann Dalton in the 44th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Reamann Dalton to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Barclay Kelly got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Theodore McJames struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Ferdia Cassin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bohemian FC. Leahgarrow FC's Brain MaCollin got his second yellow card of the match in the 57th minute. The referee ordered Brain MaCollin off the ground. Brain MaCollin kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. 62 minutes into the game, Boyd Savic cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Leonard McWilliam was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 65 played minutes Leahgarrow FC got a freekick which was hit by Shiel Cooney. After a defensive mix-up in Bohemian FC's zone, Shiel Cooney stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leonard McWilliam came out of the goal and Shiel Cooney tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Shane Kelly received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Leonard McWilliam tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 82 minutes into the game, Leahgarrow FC's Shiel Cooney nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Leonard McWilliam made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Shiel Cooney might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Leonard McWilliam. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Shiel Cooney ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Leahgarrow FC's Bresal Brennan got a free kick in the 87th minute. With a little luck, Bohemian FC's Leonard McWilliam got control of the ball when Shiel Cooney tried to sneak it across the goal line. With his leg Leonard McWilliam managed to avoid a goal in the 95thth minute, when Leahgarrow FC's Shiel Cooney fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Shane Kelly had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match was over Leahgarrow FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Bohemian FC throughout the match.
