Seating: 1853, VIP seats: 160) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Britt Myler kicked off to start the match. In the 6th minute Britt Myler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Colmcille Gough saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fiachra Benson hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Beacan Savic showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfred McDonald, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Blayne Hutton charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Blayne Hutton the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 21st match minute, Castle Celtic was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Breck Palmer to maneuver through the defense. In the 33rd minute Alfred McDonald shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Beacan Savic saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 34 minutes into the game, Hayes McTom was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Batterstown's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Castle Celtic the free kick. After a rather tough play, Batterstown's Hayes McTom got a free kick in the 34th minute. Batterstown's Blayne Hutton got his second yellow card of the match in the 37th minute. The referee ordered Blayne Hutton off the ground. In the 39th minute of the match Healy Hamilton shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Beacan Savic showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Beacan Savic came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Castle Celtic's Branagain Bayes. But to his dismay, Branagain Bayes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Beacan Savic took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Branagain Bayes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alfred McDonald stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Beacan Savic didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tipraite Horgan went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rollan Branson in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Colmcille Gough prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Healy McLiam hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Britt Myler couldn't finish the play. 79 minutes into the match, Batterstown's goal looked a bit too open when Alfred McDonald came free, but Beacan Savic reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Castle Celtic's Alfred McDonald got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rollan Branson received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Colmcille Gough came out and tried to block the shot, but Rollan Branson slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 86th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tipraite Horgan in the 92nd minute of play forced Batterstown's goalkeeper Beacan Savic to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Castle Celtic fully deserved thier win.
