Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Bergin Dalton made the kick off and thus started the match. Leon Caffey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ravan Ghee kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. Derryclure FC's attentive Tormaigh McJames managed to snatch the ball when Lewis Ferguson made a throw-in in the 5th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, France's Baiscend McWilliam got a free kick in the 6th minute. In the 16th minute, Peter Ferguson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Derryclure FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 19th minute, when Peter Ferguson scored to the left of an out of position Blathma John, making the score, 1-0. Baoithin Prunty's late challenge caught a France's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Baoithin Prunty helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Derryclure FC getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Baoithin Prunty hit a great ball. Darren Hughes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baptist Brennan in the 26th minute of play. In the 28th minute, Leon Caffey ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Darren Hughes was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Leon Caffey might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Darren Hughes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Leon Caffey ran back to his position shaking his head. Darren Hughes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leon Caffey, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. In the 38th minute Baptist Brennan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Darren Hughes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Darren Hughes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leon Caffey in the 41st minute of play. France's Darren Hughes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leon Caffey in the 45th minute of play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Leon Caffey to strike the kick off in the second half. Leon Caffey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Darren Hughes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tormaigh McJames received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Baptist Brennan charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Baptist Brennan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Blathma John took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Peter Ferguson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of France booed when Derryclure FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hugh Johnson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Leon Caffey recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, France's Lewis Ferguson got a free kick in the 80th minute. When the match had gone on for 83 minutes, Leon Caffey took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Darren Hughes to make any attempt to save it. After 86 minutes, Ravan Ghee mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the France and the Derryclure FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ravan Ghee hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Leon Caffey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Darren Hughes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Blathma John made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bera Kirby in the 94th minute of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Derryclure FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
