Baoithin Prunty's late challenge caught a France's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Baoithin Prunty helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Derryclure FC getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Baoithin Prunty hit a great ball. Darren Hughes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baptist Brennan in the 26th minute of play. In the 28th minute, Leon Caffey ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Darren Hughes was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Leon Caffey might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Darren Hughes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Leon Caffey ran back to his position shaking his head. Darren Hughes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leon Caffey, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. In the 38th minute Baptist Brennan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Darren Hughes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of France booed when Derryclure FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hugh Johnson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Leon Caffey recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
