Bergin Dalton blasted a shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Binnech Martyn having to make a save. Bergin Dalton recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bera Kirby sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 12th minute Tierney Taylor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Darren Hughes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. France's Bera Kirby was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 14th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Bera Kirby fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Binnech Martyn having to interfere. In the 22nd minute of the match, Bergin Dalton tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Binnech Martyn saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 24 minutes into the match, France's Bergin Dalton sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Binnech Martyn narrowly saved just below the crossbar. France's Bera Kirby got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Darren Hughes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Caolán McGlynn, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Peter Ferguson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Binnech Martyn having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bergin Dalton in the 38th minute of play forced lackagh utd's goalkeeper Binnech Martyn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in lackagh utd's zone, Bergin Dalton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Binnech Martyn came out of the goal and Bergin Dalton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, lackagh utd's Buach Hutton got a free kick in the 44th minute. Bera Kirby fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Binnech Martyn having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

55 minutes into the match, France's goalkeeper Darren Hughes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Caolán McGlynn. Bergin Dalton might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Binnech Martyn. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bergin Dalton ran back to his position shaking his head. Tierney Taylor struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Darren Hughes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for lackagh utd. France's Darren Hughes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tierney Taylor in the 69th minute of play. When Raymond Callaghan fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored France's protests and gave Raymond Callaghan a yellow card for diving instead. Darren Hughes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Caolán McGlynn in the 87th minute. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind lackagh utd's goalkeeper Binnech Martyn, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 94th match minute, France was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raymond Callaghan to maneuver through the defense. Caolán McGlynn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Darren Hughes having to interfere. Caolán McGlynns short, quick shot in the 98thth minute got Darren Hughes to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
