After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Kennedy Dunne managed to get in a good position for a shot. In the 5th match minute, Sligeach was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tadhg Harkin to maneuver through the defense. Pauric Glen Crowe didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Blaire Byrne went, in the 6th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 9 minutes into the match, Breandan McPeter had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Darren Hughes. France's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Breandan McPeter was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. A collision led to Sligeach getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Declan McGlenn hit a great ball. Kennedy Dunne could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Darren Hughes made a huge save. In the 19th match minute, Sligeach was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Harkin Rogers to maneuver through the defense. In the 25th minute Arnold McBrand shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Darren Hughes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Darren Hughes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Breandan McPeter's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Raymond Callaghan during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 28th minute, one of France:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for France. France:s Darren Hughes showed great skill when he stopped Arnold McBrand:s penalty. Darren Hughes came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by Sligeach's Arnold McBrand. But to his dismay, Arnold McBrand quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ravan Ghee in the 35th minute of play forced Sligeach's goalkeeper Pauric Glen Crowe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Banbhan Doherty kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. In the 42nd minute, Arnold McBrand got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Darren Hughes didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Sligeach's Breandan McPeter shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 4-1 in the ordered_time% minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-1.

Sligeach's Reilly Robinson was substituted for Kennedy Dunne. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Breandan McPeter stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Breandan McPeter in the 53rd minute of play forced France's goalkeeper Darren Hughes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Breandan McPeter came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Sligeach fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Breandan McPeter couldn't finish the play. Darren Hughes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Breandan McPeter, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Arnold McBrand sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Breandan McPeter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tadhg Harkin might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Darren Hughes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tadhg Harkin ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 63rd match minute, France was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raymond Callaghan to maneuver through the defense. Breandan McPeter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Darren Hughes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Reilly Robinson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Breandan McPeter took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Darren Hughes. Darren Hughes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Breandan McPeter in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Darren Hughes saved France from getting behind. After 72 minutes, Ravan Ghee mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the France and the Sligeach players grew even worse after the yellow card. Arnold McBrand sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sligeach's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Arnold McBrand in the 78th minute. The corner led to Sligeach's Antaine McJames getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Peter Ferguson hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. 82 minutes into the match, France's goal looked a bit too open when Breandan McPeter came free, but Darren Hughes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Darren Hughes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reilly Robinson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Breandan McPeter's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Darren Hughes was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. The supporters of Sligeach booed when France was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raymond Callaghan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arnold McBrand's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Darren Hughes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play. If Breandan McPeter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee ended the match the Sligeach players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
