Boethis McLaughlin charged in rather forcefully in the 2nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Boethis McLaughlin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 2 played minutes Ullard got a freekick which was hit by Boethis McLaughlin. 4 minutes into the game, Barnaby Dunne was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ullard's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Drummeen the free kick. In the 4th minute, Barnaby Dunne hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bairee Sheridan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gordon McBjarton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bannon McWillie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kerrigan Ghee having to interfere. Gordon McBjarton struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Bairee Sheridan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Drummeen. The throw-in from Breaghdha McTommy in the 22nd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Ullard's Barnaby Dunne. During the 25th minute of the match Barnaby Dunne completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Barnaby Dunne a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 25th minute, Barnaby Dunne hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 28th minute, Breaghdha McTommy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Gordon McBjarton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hugh McGlenn to strike the kick off in the second half. Brenainn Delaney's late challenge caught a Ullard's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Brenainn Delaney helped the player get up and apologised. After 55 played minutes Drummeen got a freekick which was hit by Brenainn Delaney. Kennedy McTommy struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Kerrigan Ghee didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ullard. Bannon McWillie got a throw-in 63 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Hugh McGlenn. After a rather tough play, Ullard's Tomás McLaughlin got a free kick in the 64th minute. A hard shot by Ravan McFrancise from long distance, 67 minutes into the match, got Bairee Sheridan's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Drummeen's Kerrigan Ghee played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kennedy McTommy in the 76th minute of play. Brenainn Delaney kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Ullard's Bannon McWillie got a free kick in the 87th minute. Brenainn Delaney got his second yellow card in the match during the 96th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 97th minute, Brenainn Delaney hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
