When the match had gone on for 7 minutes, Gearóid Doyle put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Dinny McLiam. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gearóid Doyle in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dinny McLiam prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 14th minute, Reidy Costello reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Dinny McLiam. The goal made the score 3-0. After 20 minutes of play, Ray's Bowen Jameson made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Derry Hughes was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 25th minute, Boddibevve Kelly hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match clock showed 31 minutes, the score became 4-1 when Gearóid Doyle sped through Ray's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Dinny McLiam. Conaill Frankson struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Dinny McLiam didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rosmult. Derry Hughes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bowen Jameson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A hard shot 41 in the game by Gearóid Doyle from a close distance when the talented Dinny McLiam managed to make a qualified save. Ray's players were relieved. Dinny McLiam showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reidy Costello, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gearóid Doyle in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dinny McLiam saved Ray from getting behind. Gearóid Doyle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 72 minutes into the match, Rosmult's goal looked a bit too open when Bowen Jameson came free, but Derry Hughes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Rosmult's Gearóid Doyle in the 75th minute got a chance for a shot 75th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ray's goalie prevented a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Gearóid Doyle managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rosmult's supporters rose to their feet, but Gearóid Doyle was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dinny McLiam breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Thom Rosenblum the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Rosmult protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Thom Rosenblum had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 89 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Rosmult! 98 minutes into the game, Rosmult's Reidy Costello nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dinny McLiam made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-1. Rosmult's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
