Spectators: 8027 (Terracing: 6022, Seating: 1846, VIP seats: 159) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Shannon McTom made the kick off which started today's match. Mully's Renny Delaney played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Shannon McTom in the 4th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Mully's Perry Byrne got a free kick in the 6th minute. In the 7th minute of the match Aodh Delaney shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Renny Delaney showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Mully's Renny Delaney played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Shannon McTom in the 8th minute of play. When Shannon McTom came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Ballybrood fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Shannon McTom couldn't finish the play. Patrick McGlynn's late challenge caught a Ballybrood's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Patrick McGlynn helped the player get up and apologised. Patrick McGlynn kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Shannon McTom during the 14th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Ballybrood getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Shannon McTom hit a great ball. In the 16th minute, Shannon McTom ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Renny Delaney was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 23rd minute, Shannon McTom got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Triain Scully showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilian McFrank, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 29th minute Shannon McTom shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Renny Delaney saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Renny Delaney made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donald Rutherford in the 34th minute of play. A collision led to Ballybrood getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Donald Rutherford hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilian McFrank in the 36th minute of play forced Ballybrood's goalkeeper Triain Scully to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Brite Silke fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Triain Scully having to interfere. If Brite Silke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gilian McFrank fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Triain Scully having to interfere. Renny Delaney made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bowen McBrandon in the 49th minute of play. After the first half Ballybrood were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gilian McFrank to make the kick off. Renny Delaney took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Shannon McTom, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Patrick McGlynn hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. In the 70th minute, Gilian McFrank left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mully fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Brite Silke received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Triain Scully tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 79 minutes into the match, Ballybrood's goal looked a bit too open when Gilian McFrank came free, but Triain Scully reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Brite Silke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Brite Silke charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Brite Silke the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 84th minute, Brite Silke hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 87th minute of the match, Shannon McTom tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Renny Delaney saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Ballybrood's Triain Scully played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilian McFrank in the 91st minute of play. Gilian McFrank scored 2-1 in the 93rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Triain Scully, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Mully were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Ballybrood for a fine match.
